Competition Graphs of Strongly Connected and Hamiltonian Digraphs

چکیده
Competition graphs were rst introduced by Joel Cohen in the study of food webs and have since been extensively studied. Graphs which are the competition graph of a strongly connected or Hamiltonian digraph are of particular interest in applications to communication networks. It has been previously established that every graph without isolated vertices (except K 2) which is the competitiongraph of a loopless digraph is also the competitiongraph of a strongly connecteddigraph. We establish an analogous result for one generalization of competition graphs, the p-competition graph. Furthermore, we establish some large classes of graphs, including trees, as the p-competition graph of a loopless Hamiltonian digraph. and show that interval graphs on n 4 vertices are the 2-competition graphs of loopless Hamiltonian digraphs.

Competition hypergraphs of digraphs with certain properties II. Hamiltonicity
If D = (V,A) is a digraph, its competition hypergraph CH(D) has vertex set V and e ⊆ V is an edge of CH(D) iff |e| ≥ 2 and there is a vertex v ∈ V , such that e = N− D (v) = {w ∈ V |(w, v) ∈ A}. We give characterizations of CH(D) in case of hamiltonian digraphs D and, more general, of digraphs D having a τ -cycle factor. The results are closely related to the corresponding investigations for co...
متن کاملOn spectral radius of strongly connected digraphs
It is known that the directed cycle of order $n$ uniquely achieves the minimum spectral radius among all strongly connected digraphs of order $nge 3$. In this paper, among others, we determine the digraphs which achieve the second, the third and the fourth minimum spectral radii respectively among strongly connected digraphs of order $nge 4$.
متن کاملOn viruses in graphs and digraphs Virus en grafos y digrafos
A virus is a local configuration that, if present in a graph or a digraph, forbids these graphs or digraphs to have a specific property. The aim of this article is to sketch the evolution of the virus theory from its birth in 1991. Moreover some new results and open questions are given. The properties with its known viruses, that will be discussed in this work, are the following: hamiltonian, t...
متن کاملVertex Removable Cycles of Graphs and Digraphs
In this paper we defined the vertex removable cycle in respect of the following, if $F$ is a class of graphs(digraphs) satisfying certain property, $G in F $, the cycle $C$ in $G$ is called vertex removable if $G-V(C)in in F $. The vertex removable cycles of eulerian graphs are studied. We also characterize the edge removable cycles of regular graphs(digraphs).
متن کاملStrongly connected spanning subgraphs with the minimum number of arcs in semicomplete multipartite digraphs
We consider the problem (MSSS) of finding the minimum number of arcs in a spanning strongly connected subgraph of a strongly connected digraph. This problem is NP-hard for general digraphs since it generalizes the hamiltonian cycle problem. We characterize the number of arcs in a minimum spanning strong subgraph for digraphs which are either extended semicomplete or semicomplete bipartite. Our ...
